I just found this tale of Santa being presented nailed to a cross by retailers in Japan after WWII. Somehow I suspect it isn't true - has anyone else heard of this? read more »

Yoshitani's comic-book series is called "Otaryman." The title joins "salaryman" with "otaku" to describe a new breed of office workers in Japan.

Looks like it might offer some interesting cultural insights.

Did you know there was an Elvis statue in Harajuku? I snapped a photo of it earlier this summer and that turned out to be a good thing as it won't be there in the new year - but it could be yours! read more »
