Every year on October 22nd, Kyoto celebrates its long history with a historical procession of costumed participants. The parade goes backward in time from 1867 the last year Kyoto was the official capital to 794 when the city became the capital.

Every August, folks flock to the huge Tanabata festival at Pearl Centre in Asagaya, Tokyo. The 700 metre shopping street that stretches from Asagaya station to Omekaido road, comes alive with a world of papier-mache creatures.

We have a Mitsuwa here in Sunnyvale/Cupertino. Walking into it is like walking into...I wish I was still young enough to enjoy my infatuation....Fetish....@Kame - agreed.
And with little to no makeup, as well, IMO....If I were you, I'd wear a face mask on the trains just like everybody else does. As...Good point. I used to love living on Yen and watching the dollar drop in value....So, um, how does one find his/her rooms.
And do they come gaijin-size?...That's not very surprising to me. Almost comparable with American society.
