Written 1,000 years ago, The Tale of Genji has 54 chapters and over 1,000 pages of text in its English translation. It is generally considered to be the world's first true novel, and was certainly the first psychological novel ever written.

An interesting novel. I might try to get around to reading it some day.

Read it in a Classical Japanese Literature course in college. It was interesting for a number of reasons, but I prefer the folktales. I'm just a sucker for them. Ha ha.

Right now though I am waiting for Ron Paul`s new book The Revolution is come out. After I read his new book I will have to get a copy of The Tale of Genji for sure.
