And with little to no makeup, as well, IMO....If I were you, I'd wear a face mask on the trains just like everybody else does. As...Good point. I used to love living on Yen and watching the dollar drop in value....So, um, how does one find his/her rooms.
And do they come gaijin-size?...That's not very surprising to me. Almost comparable with American society.

Intersting article indeed .... and i can relate to a lot of it with my experiences here .... Charisma man was a highlight indeed. It wasn't surprising to see the author is an English teacher, because after all .... aren't ALL foreigners in Japan English teachers? ;>)
And, to give Japanese people some credit, I rarely meet a Japanese person who asks, "Are you an English teacher?" They usually ask what I do for a living.
For me, since the end of Nova it is certainly a lot less.
Nova is not completely gone. I actually work for NOVA.
I don't know what to make of it, but as my Japanese has improved, so has the frequency of "Are you an English teacher?" reduced.
Perhaps it's just that with each passing year, I look less and less like the fresh-faced, bright-eyed teachers on the eikaiwa posters.
