I whipped up an OS X widget to display the five most recent top stories AND allow me to submit new stories to JapanSoc directly from my Dashboard. I tried to keep the colors consistent with the actual site as well. If you are a JapanSoc member, or looking to be one, maybe you’ll find some use for it? (SUBMITTED VIA WIDGET!)

Ha. Can't wait to hear about it!...OK I just saw this. Damn it is funny but a little scary at the same time. For some...It is ok pal I have had trouble with the vending machines a few times, but never...Cheers, Chris. This man is absolutely frightening....He was swimming with Kobo Daishi. XD...Nice write up by xorsyst with another video and the funniest picture I have ever...Here's a twist, Bloomberg says it's 2 Japanese and 1 American that share the prize,...I second that emotion - the ones I'm used to drop a paper cup into the tray and...This is hilarious. Ha ha ha. HA HA HA. Wow. Life-changing? No. Awkward as anything?...Oh, man.

Thanks for this Deas. I've never even touched a Mac, but it seems they're popular with foreigners in Japan. You've got me thinking about making a Google gadget to follow this up. I've read that it's possible to make gadgets that fit into iGoogle, Google Desktop, Google Toolbar and can be embedded into any webpage. I've played around and got a simple gadget working on my iGoogle page (with tabs to switch between top and upcoming stories) but there's still a long way to go. If anyone reading this has experience in making Google gadgets, talk to me!
Another option is a Windows Vista sidebar gadget which I'd also like to have a go at.
No problemo. I'd love to get tabs functioning in the widget too...but it is currently beyond me. I'll figure it out eventually. Ha ha.
LongCountdown - Not just amongst foreigners in Japan, but in Japan in general! The percentage of mac users in Japan is strikingly different than in the States or the U.K.
