Something that I've really begun to notice lately is how much Japan changes people, though the change seems to go entirely unnoticed by the people themselves.

Interesting. I do noticed that Japan has changed me but not in the sense of how loud or soft I talk. Japan has been more of a calm person. I don`t get angry as much and when I do I usually keep my cool.

I think that I've become more patient and more understanding of the fact that there is not one right way to do things.
As a Canadian who moved to the US and now on my second stint of living in Japan I now advocate living abroad to anyone as I think it really does broaden you outlook on life. I have always considered myself fairly broad minded and accepting of other people but I think that living in Japan has enhanced this further.
I've always said that if we, as citizens of the world, could take the time to understand why people do things, practice a certain religion or celebrate holidays that are different than ours the world would definitely be a better place. Instead of poking fun at things or looking at them with disdain we would be much better off if we incorporated the best of all cultures into our lives.

Keeping an open mind is very good for the soul. Although one just never forget who they are and where they come from.
