"Ageing odour" is real in Japan! Prevention methods include deodorant, showering in the morning, or moving out of Japan before you're 40 years old! Protect yourself.
Old men in the train really do stink! And stink bad! In the morning when I am half awake and some mother has brought a nightmare of a screening child on the train the last thing I want to deal with a smelly old man! The products are out there but it seems that few old men are buying them.
