On April 1st 1942 is was no joke when the US government posted this sign in San Francisco. It was the start of the 'evacuation' of all people of Japanese ancestry and led to the loss of personal property for thousands.

The first column is page views (I would guess) so that's from 661 thousand page...There was a similar case two years ago when a police sergeant drove to work drunk,...Takes one to know one....I don't know what they're called, but you put them in your boots to make them stand...And here's that follow-up post:
