I usually get my hair cut at "Rabbit" or "King", but Gaijin Tonic has found some even more unusual names for Japanese hair salons including "Guts" and "Slug". On the topic of hair, who here goes to a "fast-food" barbershop where they have about six different people work on your hair, but charge you just $15, and who goes to the traditional Japanese barber who will shave your forehead for $40? I prefer the cheap option, how about you?

While the names are crazy, the number of hair salons is even more crazy. I really do not know how they make money and in my small city of 95,000, there are around 140 hair salons.
That means that on average, each shop services around 680 customs. Take away really small children and very old people (Which probably makes up 30-35 percent of the population) and that average is ridiculously low and just can't understand how they do business.
Coupled with the amount of staff some of these shops have sheesh, they must all have part-time jobs. No wonder they need funny names to attract customers!!
