Appreciate the recommendation - could you find a link to a site that might be able to tell us where to find these restaurants?

Bamiyan are little more than generic Chinese restaurants. If you want real Chinese food in the Kanto area go to Yokohama's Chinatown or to Ikebukuro. Bamiyan are about as Chinese as Saizeriya is Italian.

Whatever happened to simple is best ? It's not fair to call Bamiyans "generic." They have really good Chinese food ! Yokohama Chinatown is good, but if you want something that's reasonably priced then try Bamiyan.

I have fallen in love with the Shanghai cuisine here (highly recommend the one in Midland tower - not sure of the name but it has white crossed windows) but good old, probably highly inauthentic, fried rice is a bit of a comfort food for me (and probably a lot of us non-wheat eaters lol) It would be lovely to find some!

There is a really good Chinese restaurant in Shinjuku Takashimaya Times Square. I can't remember what floor it is, but it has some of the best dumplings ever. If you are around there check it out.
