hey! What dog keeps trying to bury my samba posts? Speak your peace, Fido, or go chase cars in rush hour traffic.

I buried one of them because it was a duplicate. Watch the live view if you want to see who does what and why. I don't soc these posts because they're not of interest to me, but I let the site members decide whether it gets to the front page or not.
I would also say that "Fido" is "speaking his/her peace" by burying your posts. That is, after all, the point of this site.

Ah, the word "duplicate" slips into the gray area here. Anyway, I prefer the photos to the YouTube video. Dave, why don't you embed your videos in your blog posts?

I was refering to the red flag - I don't know if that means bury or not. I just noted that my last samba article had a flag as well so I thought somebody out there doesn't like samba or japanese samba at least. And speaking their piece would be ACTUALLY saying why they didn't like it rather than quietly and sheepishly flagging/burying it.

BTW what do you mean by duplicate? Do you mean the posts? One is a written account with photos and the other a video - I always post them seperately on my blog.
And I don't understand what some folks mean by embedding the photos. I thought this was just linking to sites

Sorry for the confusion, Dave. Yeah, JapanSoc is just linking to sites. I meant embedding the video within the same post as the photos instead of leaving the video on YouTube, but I see now that you already embed the video in your blog, just separately.
Don't mind the red flags. They turn yellow then disappear if more people vote a story up, as is the case with this one.

Ah, my bad! I thought they meant photos embedded here! As for video embedded with the stories, the reason mine is seperated is due to the way I post my stuff on my blog.
I found it confusing and complicated to do it directly thru WordPress so I've always used a political site's board to first post my story before cutting and pasting onto my blog. The site posts photos well but they don't embedd videos hence the seperate posts on my blog - and trying to do so afterwards just leads to a big mess so it's just easier for my peace of mind to seperate the two.

I always found it a pain to embed videos in Wordpress, too, but since WP 2.6 there's been a way to do it just by entering the video's url in a pop-up box. Anyway, if you find time to experiment, give it a go.

Woah. The moment I soc'd this, there was a server hiccup and my vote got registered twice - check out the "Who soc'd it?" tab. Those photos are worth it anyway.

This was a good review of the event although I'm not a huge fan of the pandering title, I'll give it a soc...
My attention span is too short to watch the video although the intro is kind of cool. I second Nick's suggestion of embedding it in the post for those whose attention span is longer than mine.

The title is not pandering! It's the gosh-honest truth! It was hot due to the humidity and temps then later it was wet due to the rain and samba is generally considered a sexy dance and this one being primarily done by Japanese, the title iss perfectly apt all things considering

I will give you that it's accurate and I'll further assume that it was your intention all along and that it had absolutely nothing to do with the search engines

Speaking of search engines, the most popular search term for this site is "asuka sawamoto". There are twice as many hits from that than the second most popular keyword, "japansoc". Go figure!

Shane's nicer than I am. I still think it's a pandering title. Ha ha. Written with purpose.
