You make a good point in your article. That must have been awful to witness.
I'm often scared when I am walking on a crowded sidewalk and see a bicycle heading my way. They often weave in and out of the crowd and very rarely use their bell to let people know they are coming by.
I'm thinking that the cyclist may lose in a collision with a vehicle but I'm not so sure who would lose in a collision with a pedestrian and I'm not sure I want to find out.

They do lose, it does hurt. Though the RSA Securcard took the brunt of "fuckwit kddi prick waving his stupid bag around like a loon."
Darwin was wrong, and Japanese cyclopaths are proof of this.
They can do things like:
wear black at night,
with no lights,
ride in the middle of the road,
ride on the wrong side,
have their fucking ipod turned up to 11,
hold an umbrella,
send email on their keitais,
any and ALL of the above and still live to tell.
There has to be some god on their side, or there'd be a special gomi day for them "burnable, unburnable, cyclopath".
