Ha ha - I just found this. Awesome. Selling snowmen to the Japanese. People buy weird crap, huh?

I'll try it if I can get my hands on it.

Not quite as bad as Nakashima Mika's version (honestly what could be?), but still...it's not great. Ha ha. I liked the goofy 1000 Miles cover more.

OH wait a minute...it is damn pricey for just a three pack.

This might actually be good. I look forward to giving it a try.

But if he's Catholic...where's that put HIS work ethic? Ha ha. What wins out?

Cool experience. By the way, I saw some of your photos featured in the Metropolis calender for 2009. Some great shots indeed!

It seems that at times Japanese companies keep you guessing if you are actually hired right up until the last moment.

I've gone to this place a dozen times alone and with a female partner. If you go alone you can enjoy more and stay longer as you don't have to worry about anybody else. I recommend going here after midnight, a bit more expensive though, than during the day because there are too many people.
The water quality is fair and it's not 100% onsen water. They have to mix the water with 50% tap water in order to make up for recirculation and evaporation from the tanks.
If you go after midnight chances are they don't check for tattoos. I have seen many poeple with tats after midnight.
I highly recommend this place if you are entertaining out of town guest.
Nice photos Danny, but would've been even nicer if you used a super wide angle and captures 60% of the ferris wheel.

From the article it does not seem like he is declaring war on Christianity. It seems more like a statement saying that he thinks most Christians are lazy. Making such a sweeping generalization may be the reason his statements are shocking for some people.

I was going to make another comment but after reading this whole article I decided not, too. The titles a bit misleading, too.

We can pretend the targets are feedscrapers ;)

Just wanted to give a "Yes, great book" re: Tokyo Underworld - I haven't finished it yet because I was getting into a bit of a depression about systemic corruption here and decided to take off my metaphorical reading glasses and wear my rose-coloured ones for a bit but will definitely finish it soon lol!
The Rikidozan parts of the book are fascinating but he was an unfortunate character - I'd think it would be hard to make your name on the basis of being "the best" and the nations champion over it's new oppressors but know that the opposition was paid to lose.

Wow! Thanks so much for this. I started watching "Trick" and although my Japanese isn't really good enough it was subtitled in English so I could read what I was missing.

That's a lovely wee post! I've not seen such gratuitous time-wasters in my office, although I've never really stopped to look.
However, from the start of this year/month/week work has decided everyone must start at 8:30 (even though we're all on flex) so although I personally usually get in at 8 already, the guys who used to come in at 10-ish now find they need to have their mindless chatter/evening break at 3:30, which fair irritates me.

I predict that cloning technology will be shifted into the culinary market, allowing flesh to be lab-grown for butchering, not to mention vegetable possibilities. It might undo many a vegetarian's taboo on eating things with a face / or killing animals for food.
Then we could start cloning fur-producing skins and really mess things up for PETA. Ha ha. Ok - the meat thing is far more likely than the fur thing.

Whaling still continues in 2009...human society evolves way, way too slowly.
In fifty years I predict 90% of western societies will be vegetarian due to lack of land and resources to sustain the current carcass-based diets, among other reasons (i.e. combating obesity, cancer, etc.).
