While I am not big on the whole global warming thing I do feel that humans should care the environment better. I have always thought that more research should be put into solar power. I know that there must be a company out there with the funds and resources to invent a cost effective solar power system for home use.

Why, pray tell, are you not big on the whole global warming thing?
Does that mean you simply don't care about the problem, or you do not believe the problem of global warming exists?

It seems that there is a slight shift in the temperature and weather patterns of the planet but I don`t think that humans are the main cause of this trend. The planet is doing this naturally for the most part. Instead of trying to stop the process humans should adjust to the change the planet is going through.

What proof do you have for your claim that humans and the greenhouse gasses we are producing are not the main cause of these shifts?

Freedomwv is hardly alone in his skepticism. In fact, I agree with him. We aren't scientists so can't offer proof, but here's a list of scientists that also doubt the mainstream scientific assessment of global warming:
Here's a good article by "the rocket scientist who wrote the carbon accounting model (FullCAM) that measures Australia's compliance with the Kyoto Protocol". He was also a consultant to the Australian Greenhouse Office:
I could offer link after link to scientists who disagree with the CO2 theory, but equally, you could do the same for scientists you agree with. If a group of scientists supports the CO2 theory, then we should listen to them and try to understand their reasons why. On the other hand, if another group of scientists have other theories about global warming, we should listen to them, too. One group should not have a monopoly on the truth.

We've looked into this and for solar-powered "all-denka", the setup costs are at least 3 million yen. These folk are really lucky they got it done for free.

Whether global warming is human in origin or not what annoys me is how everything now has to be put under the global warming umbrella to be taken seriously. Polution of our seas, air and soil is hugely important whether it contributes to global warming or not, running out of oil and so needing alternative sources of power is just as urgent as the green house gases they cause etc... I do worry that having such popularity for the global warming thing takes money away from research unless the scientists find some way to link it to global warming. It's not denying it, it's kind of like we need to research prostate cancer as much as breast cancer or female coronary disease as much as male. There's never enough money but when research into concrete solutions for other things is being ignored in favour of research which we can't be sure will fix anything but makes some company look like they are on the bandwagon (e.g., don't the petrol companies love to say they are ""green" because they are looking at global warming as a catch-all phrase while undermining efforts to wean us off oil) well, it's not helping.
