I wonder if they broke the world record for most software downloads in one day?

This is great PR for Firefox, but these numbers must pale in comparison to the number of people getting upgraded to IE7 with automatic Windows Updates. I use both Firefox and IE7, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be IE7. Of course, I haven't tried this new version of Firefox yet, so maybe it will surprise me. Let's hope it integrates better with Vista than its predecessor.

I think that firefox is much better than IE. I've started using firefox for the tabbed browsing, and didn't look back again. I also think that the huge selection of add-ons, make it the perfect browsing tool.

You mean IE6. Everything is better than IE6. IE7 has tabbed browsing and tons of add-ons, just like Firefox.

Again, I still think that many independent developers prefer to develop for firefox than IE.

I've just spent two days fixing hundreds of pages on half a dozen sites to make them FF3 friendly. I was furious that what worked perfectly in FF2 got all screwed up in FF3. Open source, gotta love it!

Sorry to hear that FF3 created a lot of work for you. Open source is very different from the closed course which Microsoft uses. Although, for my needs FF has always worked better for me.
