Looks like a cool idea but humans have not perfected the correct metals yet to actually pull this off. Anyways, the discovery channel give a detailed look at how such a building would be built.

AH yes - this was an amazing TV series on Discovery and this construction in particular really catches the imagination. They will do it some day... kinda freaky to think about it.
Wow, I can't believe the Discovery channel went to such lengths to document a building that was never intended to be built. As far as I understand, it was just a marketing ploy for Taisei construction. Very cool, though.

They also had an Extreme Engineering: Sky City special on Tokyo a while back, it was really impressive and I guess it's something that's really being considered to be built.
The sky city idea would not surprise me at all if Tokyo actually attempts to build it someday. As far as the Pyramid city goes...well we are not smart enough to actually pull it off; yet.
