Oh yes. I've seen this on a documentary. They destroyed a large wasp colony using smoke and then ate the wasps and larvae as a delicacy. The larvae I might actually be persuaded to try (I've had stranger)

i saw lots of fried insects when I visited Thailand but this is the first mention I've seen of insect cuisine in Japan. When I first got here, I never imagined I could eat horumon but here I am; voluntarily ordering heart and liver at yakiniku places. Who knows? Maybe they're tasty. I'd have to go with the Thai version, though - I've yet to eat anything fried that isn't tasty.

I actually just had "inago no tsukudani" this weekend for the first time. It wasn't bad. I'm not sure about the leaving the sugar part out, since they tasted pretty sweet to me. Good post buddy.
