None of these are fashion trends.
I kind of thought the same thing. Misleading. The only one that really was a fashion trend of any actual notoriety was the horrifying ganguro / yamanba / sentaa-gyaru make-up.
I remember when Yamanba was all the rage. They freak me out a little but they are cool in their own special way. Some of those gals are actually a lot of fun to hang with.
