So if they had kept battling, they would have lost by a hundred or more runs, but since they threw in the towel, they automatically lose with a 9-0 scoreline. That doesn't sound fair on the kids who probably hit a record number of runs. Their achievements would have been nullified, wouldn't they?

Nick - It sounds like it was treated as a forfeit which would nullify all the statistics according to my hubby. It's like it never happened. However I'm not sure how 'meaningful' those stats would be since the pitcher was obviously not very good....
