I took a nice circle route around Hiei-zan in northeast Kyoto and posted some photos, a route map, and some comments about the area. Lots of unusual local trains, two cable cars (one has the highest incline and the other has the longest length in Japan), and one ropeway make this trip great for your inner 電車オタク.
