For the first time since World War 2, Japan has allowed a Chinese warship to make a port of call in the country. According to the Mainichi news, relationships between China and Japan have improved considerably in the last year and the two countries have agreed to allow each other to make port stops.

I think this is a very sensible move by Japan. China's military spending is huge now, so you wouldn't want to upset them!
