Did you take all those photos? You said you only stumbled across them. So I assume you did not take them. I see no link back or credit to the original photographers.
This would make me angry if one of my photos was used without a link back at the least, never mind asking for permission.

I appreciate that you have decided to jump on anyone doing the wrong thing but perhaps you were a little overzealous here? It's not the soc-er's blog. Perhaps you should cut and paste it into a comment on the post itself

Hmm, jcollin3k, it seems as though I may have misunderstood the purpose of Japan Soc? Not intentionally though if that is the case. I thought we were supposed to highlight things we found of interest - whether they are stories or pictures. I never made any claim to take the photos- that was why I said I had 'stumbled across' them. So.... if this is inappropriate then by all means I stand corrected but I will say that the intentions were good.
As to the link back, I thought that came automatically by us putting the url in when we highlight the story - isn't that a link back? That's how I thought we all give credit to what we find and share.
Nick-san - sorry if I have been using this wrongly - I would actually really like to know as it will tell me what I can and can't choose to submit in the future.
Thanks DBR for your understanding - much appreciated.

As DBR said, jcollin3k's frustration should be aimed at the blogger in this case, not the submitter. You've done nothing wrong other than submit something off-topic (i.e. non-Japan). Don't worry about the "link back" stuff - that's between the blogger at curiosidadesnanet.wordpress.com and the individual photographers, nothing to do with you or JapanSoc, and I'm sure jcollin3k just made an honest mistake by thinking you compiled the photos yourself. So cheer up!

I got it - sorry sometimes I'm a little slow. Honestly jcolling3k I didn't realize that the blogger hadn't taken these photos - I just kind of assumed they did -that's why I soc'd it. I love good photos and perhaps I am rather naive - I really didn't think you would post those if you hadn't taken them yourself - I wouldn't.
Anyways - moving forward - lesson learned for me. Thanks Nick for clarifying for me - and I'll stay on Japan in future. They just really struck me when I was looking through my channel.
Gomen ne jcollin3k - I will know in future to check whether the blogger has given acknowledgment.
Thanks!

Yes, sorry, didn't realize the submitter (uktokyoite) was not the author as well. I added my above comment directly to the comments on the linked article.
Didn't think my above comment was more than just wanting to set the record straight either.

Wow - the statue of liberty one might be mine. Ha ha. I took a whole series of shots through the 1 cutout sign with the sky the same color when I visited over spring break of 2006. (Then again, it could be from anyone else who took the same shots. I must have 30-odd versions of it. Hmmm.)
