I know this article is nearly 10 YEARS OLD, but it's new to me! A man living near an air base demanded it be evacuated because as a potential target, it posed an extreme danger to his life in the event of a war breaking out on the Korean Peninsula. The court rejected his demand. Question: Would you be willing to live near an airbase in Japan?

I've thought the possibility of my Japanese hometown of Sayama being considered a target since it has a JASDF base near by. It isn't exactly an unreasonable thought during a time of war. Living near the airbase isn't so bad, but the possibility of the area which I love becoming a war zone in some nightmare future scenario stinks..
I live very close to Gifu Air Base and it poses an extreme danger to my eardrums. I get the feeling that most of the city's residents here would rather not have the air base in their backyard. They probably agree with the judge in this court case who said the prospect of war is not realistic.
The noise wasn't that bad when I was living in Sayama. We lived fairly close, but I suspect that JASDF base isn't as busy as a USAF base. For the most part the prospect of war isn't realistic, but this silly mind of mine likes to play "amateur Nostradamus" from time to time. lol.
