I'm just speculating, but this seems to coincide with the USS Ronald Reagan leaving Japan to join the "massive U.S naval armada" heading for Iran.
"There is a great fear that Russia and China may oppose the naval and air/land blockade of Iran. If Russian and perhaps Chinese naval warships escort commercial tankers to Iran in violation of the blockade it could be the most dangerous at-sea confrontation since the Cuban Missile Crisis."
"Green Berets now in Georgia: U.S. Special Forces are training Georgian soldiers to fight radical Muslims. The mission could benefit other U.S. interests as well."
So when you said on Japan Probe that a nightmare situation was starting to play out, you weren't wrong!

Oh, America, when will you learn to keep your nose out of other conflicts?
It will be interesting to see how the next few months play out. The U.S. can't afford another war without going from a pseudo-democracy to an impirial society, though. No nation will bankroll another massive campaign.

Meanwhile, the U.S. seems to be supporting Georgia in its conflict with Russia.
From July 15th, 2008:
"About 1,200 U.S. servicemen and 800 Georgians will train for three weeks at the Vaziani military base near the Georgian capital, Tbilisi."

This one is from 2002:
