Until recently, New York has had the largest number of Japanese who stay for over 3 months. Now, though, Shanghai has overtaken the Big Apple as the most popular destination for Japanese people living abroad. Might the increasingly strict immigration policies of the U.S have something to do with this? Or is there more work available in Shanghai?
