I doubt that the Japanese government will enter any FTA that requires the dropping of protections for farmers.

I did a parody of the article...True, that D300 price is not so different fron new. If the guarantee is 12months on...I misread the title. I remember one of my old professors telling us about apples in Chiba that are individually wrapped as they grow on the tree!

Protectionism just hurts the locals. Japanese Rice and Computers are cheaper in Hawaii then in Japan. The Japanese who look for Japanese rice are shocked when they see the price. They realize the goverment has been soaking them.
Free trade agreements only benefit big business. While the worlds get cheap goods the locals suffer and struggle to compete.
