Japanese CDs are way overpriced. Import CDs are a bit cheaper, but still too much. I can't imagine anybody buying a CD album in Japan except unless you're a big fan of the artist, and as you say, you may as well rent the CD then copy it - not that I would commit such a heinous crime!

I think today's music is all about Satellite radio. I'm a big fan of XM and Sirius back in the U.S. and I hear they have something similar here. Paying $12 a month for unlimited commercial free music is a good deal, and much better than buying CDs or even songs through iTunes. What's great are the newer smaller portable XM Radio players.
