If this is true, and it's just a matter of time anyway, watching TV will be like looking through a window. There'll be no difference in quality between what we see with our own eyes and what is shown on the screen. What I find most interesting about this is when software catches up to take advantage of this technology. People criticize virtual worlds such as Second Life, but in the future, when you turn on the TV, you won't know the difference between an actual real person or a computer generated image controlled by a real person. Throw in some virtual reality goggles and the only difference between virtual and real worlds will be lack of touch and smell... and I bet they're working on those, too!
