If you've ever wondered whether the train you take on your daily commute to work is overcrowded or not, check out "What Japan Thinks" for a list of the busiest railway lines in Japan. According to the figures, the busiest line is the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line from Ueno to Okachimachi which has an average overcrowding of 209% ! Do you ride this line?

I use the Seibu Ikebukuro Line everyday to work and I never really noticed that it is all that over crowed. There is no way it can be running at 158%!

I also also us the JR Joban Rapid Line from Kita-Senju and it is almost always over crowed.

...but you must ride *from* Ikebukuro out towards the west? That way is pretty uncrowded, since there's not a whole lot of places out that way that people want to go to during the day...

i live on the Seibu-Ikebukuro; going from Nerima to Ikebukuro on a weekend morning is only trumped by going from Ikebukuro to Nerima at 5:30pm.
