I'd hate to be lumped into the bitter white woman category, but I have to agree it is frustrating to find shoes here. That I am a tad bitter about
The shoes! What's up with that anyway? You can't even special order huge shoes. I just add it to my cost of living and my size 13-14 from the U.S.

The PET role doesn't sound so bad. I think I might be a mixture of the following: 10, 2 and 1. I have too much soul to be a Nigel, I'm not European, I recognize that there are people who know way more than me about Japan, I don't hate anything much less Japan, secretly or otherwise, I'm not a white woman, and I don't have enough charisma to be a host.
I guess it wasn't so bleak after all! XD
Hmm ... I'm not too sure where I fall into this category. A little bit of #2 and a little bit of #1 (leave the toilet humor where it belongs, please :P) with a little bit of "my wife lived here, so I came over as part of #2.
Hopefully I'll just be in category two within the next few years....
