And do they come gaijin-size?...That's not very surprising to me. Almost comparable with American society.

What I find interesting about Jero is what most of the young Japanese find him to be very strange indeed. From what I have noticed he is looked at more as an oddity. A lot of the Japanese seem to ask, why is that young black guy singing our traditional music. They like to see him sing just to make sure it he can actually do it. Although I am hearing the perspective of younger Japanese who have little interest in traditional music anyway.
Notice how Jero is usually wearing exactly the same thing - maybe different colors, but still the same. He looks like he's been designed as a product rather than being an ordinary person.
