In Australia beer is a very manly, very blokey, pub/down to earth thing which is not really associated with women in advertising at all. When they brought out the low carb beers they tried a couple of ads aimed at women but they didn't work at all because the main beer market (men) didn't want to be seen drinking a girly beer. Not sure if it managed to lose the stigma and take off with the metro crowd... I only know this from following advertising news lol
